The United States of America is divided into fifty different geographical regions known as states.

The United States are composed of 50 states, the District of Columbia, and several territories, the most famous of which include Guam, Puerto Rico, and American Samoa.

Each state is led by a governor and a state legislature. In some states there is a constitution that tells them what to do or what they can't do. The constitution is interpreted by judges.
