The Americans For Prosperity (AFP) is a 501(c)(4) nationwide organization of citizen leaders committed to advancing every individual’s right to economic freedom and opportunity. Its affiliate Americans For Prosperity Foundation (AFP Foundation) is a 501(c)(3) committed to educating citizens about economic policy and a return of the federal government to its Constitutional limits.

The AFP started in 2003 when Citizens for a Sound Economy (CSE) and its affiliated Citizens for a Sound Economy Foundation (CSEF) seperated, and the CSEF became AFP.[1]

Transparent Office
AFP Michigan is working with a number of legislators to open the state’s checkbook. They are working with local government who want to see transparency in their counties. Their work has aided in the Michigan Secretary of States office becoming transparent on the internet.[2]

AFP Foundation gets its support from individuals, foundations and corporations who share its vision. Contributions are tax deductible. AFP gets its support from individuals and corporations which share its vision. Contributions are not tax deductible. AFP and AFP Foundation also accept contributions of stock and bequests from donors wishing to include them in their estate plans.[3]
