Carlson v. Pima County 1984 The court eliminated the distinction between public records and "other matters", in favor of a comparison of the interests of privacy and the policy of openness with regard to whether records should be released
City of Prescott v. Town of Chino Valley 1990
Cox Arizona Publications Inc. v. Collins 1993 The court determined that ongoing police investigations were not automatically exempt material.
Lake v. City of Phoenix 2009 This case established that information held in an electronic medium is subject to the Arizona Public Records Law in the original medium, including all meta-data attached to the record.
