The good

  • County commissioner meeting agendas and minutes are published.[2]
  • Information on tax rates is provided.[3]
  • Audit reports are published.[4]
  • Information on contracts is provided.[5]
  • The current budget is published.[6]
  • Campaign contributions and Commissioners Court expenditure reports are scheduled to appear on the Web site in January 2009, to comply with a 2005 state law requiring such records to be made available online. Bexar is the last of the largest Texas counties to come into compliance with the law. [7]

The bad

  • There is no information on building permits and zoning, administrative officials, lobbying, and public records.
