Calcasieu Parish is one of sixty-four parishes in Louisiana. A parish, in Louisiana, is the equivalent of a county in other states. The parish seat is Lake Charles. As of 2000, the population was 183,577. The Lake Charles Metropolitan Statistical Area consists of Calcasieu and Cameron parishes.

- The police jurors and their contact information are posted.[3]
- Contact information is posted for the administrative offices and for other elected officials.[4][5]
- The current budget is posted. The Parish should consider posting also past budget to also residents to compare it with previous years.
- Allows citizens to send feed back on the parish.[6]
- Information is provided for permits and who to contact with questions about planning and zoning, but not all applications are downloadable.[7]
- Contract information is posted.[8]
- Annual Financial Report included audits for the parish.[9]

- Contracts a bit hard to understand, and could use some clarity.
- Some of the drop down menus are hard to navigate as they disappear beneath the bottom of the screen.
- There is no disclosure if the parish does or does not belong to a taxpayer-funded lobbying association.
- Local tax information is not provided.
- There is no instruction posted on how or who to contact for public records.
