[edit] Notable Decisions
The Camden BOE approved a $341 million budget under time pressure from the state on June 10, 2008. They then refused to release the details of the budget to the public. Transparency advocates the New Jersey Foundation for Open Government protest the decision, saying that "this budget should have been a public document when they put it on the agenda for the meeting because at that point it's no longer deliberative or advisory, they're about to take action on it."
The New Jersey based organization Citizens' Campaign also protested the Board of Education's move to withhold the budget, saying "If the document's ready to be voted on then it should be ready for public view". [1]
