[edit] American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
The City of Chandler is seeking recovery dollars directly through established federal programs that received additional funding as well as through competitive grants available from the state and federal government. The Mayor and City Council are working closely with City staff to pursue competitive grant opportunities, although in some cases we are awaiting specific information from the state and federal governments regarding eligibility criteria, funding amounts and deadlines.[17]
The City is committed to obtaining as many benefits from ARRA as possible for the residents of Chandler and will update this site as additional funds are awarded.[17]
[edit] Taxpayer-funded lobbying associations
Chandler is a member of the Arizona League of Cities and Towns, a taxpayer-funded lobbying association.[18] It submitted a resolution which would lower signature requirements in local nonpartisan elections for adoption in the Arizona League.
