- The city website posts the budget for the last five years.[1][2]
- The Chicago City Clerk's website hosts information on some meetings. In addition, full City Council meetings are viewable via live feed on their website, but most meetings including committee meetings are not. [3]
- Aldermen are searchable by ward. [4]
- Chicago has an ethics board. [5]
- Some contracts are available online.[6]
- Forms for requesting public records are fairly simple to find on the website.[7]
- All legislation passed by the city council is posted online.
[edit] The Bad
- Administrative Officials are either difficult to find, or there does not exist a list on the website.
- Audit Information is either non-existent or difficult to find.
- Information on taxpayer-funded lobbying association is either non-existent or difficult to find.

In February of 2010 the Chicago Police Department launched a new campaign that text's subscribers community and business alerts, missing persons alerts, and Amber Alerts.[8]
