Superintendent Deldin cautions the board not to answer Caporuscio's questions |
The district is under fire from two parents, Grace Caporuscio and John Schmitz, who use the Michigan Freedom of Information Act to request and examine the district's expenditures. They have found that thousands of dollars have been spent since 2005 on meals and gifts for school board members and staff. They also discovered the $680,000 purchase of property using money from a 2004 bond issue, despite the fact that the property was not part of the bond application. These discoveries and others are tracked on Caporuscio's website: Chippewatch.Org. [2]
Caporuscio received the Sunshine Troublemaker of the Week honor for her work.
