Choctaw is a city in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, and a part of the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. The population was 9,377 at the 2000 census. While Choctaw is located in the geographic center of Eastern Oklahoma County, it enjoys relative prosperity on the fringes of the urbanized eastern edge of Oklahoma City.
