Colorado House Bill 1288 (HB 1288), sponsored by Republican Representative BJ Nikkel, along with 29 Republicans and 8 Democrats, would require the chief information officer of the office of information technology to create and maintain an online database that includes data of state revenues and expenditures. The office of information technology is a part of the office of governor.

On April 16, 2009, HB 1288 passed the Colorado House of Representatives with a 61-4 vote. The four "no" votes were cast by representatives Joel Judd (D), Gwyn Green (D), Sara Gagliardi (D), and Su Ryden (D).

On February 16, 2009 the bill was introduced in the House and assigned to the Finance and Appropriations committees. On March 4, the bill was passed by the Finance committee. [1] The bill passed the House Appropriations committee on April 15. [2]
