In order to avoid violations of the Florida Sunshine Law, the city commission of Deltona has decided to forbid the sending/receiving of text messages during public meetings. "We're still trying to catch up with technology, but technology should not hinder public access," said Zenaida Denizac, the Deltona commissioner who pushed for the ban. "We should not use text messages, or instant messages or even e-mails to circumvent the spirit of the Sunshine law." ^[1]
