[edit] Public meeting

The question of whether or not audio recordings of public meetings - made solely for the purpose of preparing meeting minutes - are subject to the Pennsylvania Right to Know Law is being asked in the East Penn District. Columnist Bill White of The Morning Call submitted a request for the recording of a meeting where it was decided to give District Superintendent Thomas Seidenberger a 3.2 percent raise and a $3,000 bonus. In response to his request the board minutes were sent, and when he made clear that it was the recording he wanted, he was told "They're not the official record." A final response and a clarification from Open Records Deputy Director Barry Fox should be made by Monday, February 8, 2009. [8]
