In 2012, Sunshine Review evaluated the ten largest school districts: Anchorage School District, Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District, Kenai Peninsula Borough School District, Juneau School District, Lower Kuskokwim School District, Galena City School District, Kodiak Island Borough School District, Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District, and Northwest Arctic Borough School District.
