[edit] Website evaluation

[edit] The good

  • Site has a search function and is fairly user friendly.
  • Budget is published.[1]
  • Elected and administrative officials are listed with contact information.[2]
  • Audit reports are published.[3]
  • Provides full reports of lobbying by local governments[4] and a full list of registered lobbyists.[5]
  • State tax information is provided.[6]

[edit] The bad

  • State contracts are not available.
  • Most agencies appear to have information on how to request records[7] under the Minnesota Data Practices Act, but site does not seem to have comprehensive information on requesting records.
  • Information on legislative ethics provided[8], but no info on a state ethics commission.
  • Does not provide agency lobbying contracts.
