Fairfield County is one of eight counties in Connecticut. It is located in the southwestern corner of the state. Fairfield county is Connecticut's most populous county, with an estimated population of 905,000. Fairfield County is also one of the highest-income counties in the United States. Connecticut counties do not have county governments. Individual towns are responsible for administering local government.
