Leadership

The group is directed by Adam Andrzejewski. Andrezejewski hostes meetings all over Illinois to motivate citizens to become involved in advocating for an accountable government.

Open Book Revolution

In February, Andrezejewski detailed the Open Book Revolution, a movement "For the Good of Illinois" initiated. The act would require school district's check register posted on the internet. Posting the check register would require no change to state law, have minimal expense, and would not take long to implement.[1]

College of Dupage

Recently the group convinced the Midwest's large community college, the College of Dupage, to open their check register to the public. The college has an annual budget of nearly $140 million. Currently, the college is the largest school to put its check register online. The school lists all vendor expenses, including the check number, vendor name, amount and a brief description of each expense.

Trustee David Carlin and the College Of DuPage and Michael E. McKinnon, COD Board Chairman worked together to post the check register online. Since his election as trustee in April- 2007, David Carlin has advocated openness in the governance of the community college. Carlin proposed and implemented posting audio taped board meetings, minutes of board meetings and monthly board packets online.

David Carlin said, "In the internet age, taxpayers shouldn't have to file Freedom of Information Act requests to get information that should be made readily available to them online."[2]
