"Georgia's top court has ruled that investigators can refuse media requests in "pending investigations" even in long-running cases where police have done little work in more than a decade, according to an opinion released Monday.
The Georgia Supreme Court's 4-3 decision gives authorities more leeway to withhold documents in investigations that are still open, a blow to media companies that have long argued for more access to pending crime files."
