Grant Parish is one of sixty-four parishes in Louisiana. A parish, in Louisiana, is the equivalent of a county in other states. The parish seat is Colfax. It is part of the Alexandria, Louisiana Metropolitan Statistical Area and Red River valley. As of 2000, the population was 18,698.
