[edit] Judge's ruling defends public access to records

"Thurston County Superior Court Judge Chris Wickham delivered an important public records ruling last week. He came down firmly on the side of openness and transparency in government operations.

Good for him. Let's hope his decision is upheld if state attorneys opt to appeal.

The underlying case arose out of an Oct. 28, 2007, crash on the Montlake Bridge in Seattle. Bicyclist Michael Gendler lost the use of his arms and legs in that life-altering week."
