[edit] Public records
The Ketchum city council voted to clarify it's policy on waiving fees for public record requests. The law requires that fees for public records be waived if a requester demonstrates an inability to pay, but the council indicated concern over waiving fees for those capable of paying. "To that end, the council will consider whether the records in question are a matter of public interest, if they relate to a health or safety issue, and if the requester stands to personally benefit from the subject matter of the request." Fee waivers will be at the discretion of the council, and a resolution was approved to form a logical process to assist in the decision making. [2]
