[edit] Public records
The Lafayette City Council voted to lower the cost of public police and fire records on May 4, 2009. The new policy gives citizens the documents at cost, and removes the possibility of the city using public records requests as a source of revenue.
Incident reports will be 10 cents per black and white page and 25 cents a page for color copies. [9]
