[edit] Lawsuit dropped over emails plotting Wayne-Westland teachers' strike and school board recall
"The Education Action Group has dropped its Freedom of Information lawsuit against the Michigan Education Association.
The small non-profit group stated in a press release that they do not have the funds to continue fighting the powerful teachers’ union.
The battle began when Kyle Olson, vice president of the Muskegon-based Education Action Group, requested emails from the Wayne-Westland district after some teachers tipped him off.
These teachers told Olson that a district-owned email account was used to send out strategies for last fall’s teachers' strike and the subsequent Wayne-Westland School Board recall campaign."
