Collin County, Texas, is setting the pace throughout the nation for local spending transparency. Collin has made extensive financial data available online, including its check registers and analyses of financial trends during the last five years. In August, 2008, Collin became the first county in the U.S. to make such extensive financial data available online, according to the Texas Public Policy Foundation[1]. To access this database, visit the Collin County transparency website.[2]
