Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem issued an opinion regarding actions that the city of Mandan took when an individual made a public records request for some of the city's expenditures. The Attorney General ruled that Mandan had violated the law by demanding the full name and employer of the person filing the request. "Marhula's full name and employer are irrelevant to whether he is entitled to public records." ^[1]
