[edit] Problems at the McLennan County Jail

Texas' largest law enforcement association, Combined Law Enforcement Agencies of Texas (CLEAT), alleges that McLennan county officials have acted inappropriately to solve the county jail's overcrowding problems. "County officials say they sought proposals from 14 companies nationwide on a variety of options" [8] but that they received a response from only one.

County commissioners voted to leave the management of the jail in the hands of sheriff Larry Lynch.
