The Michigan Taxpayers Alliance (MTA) is a federally registered 501(c)(4) organization dedicated to taxpayer education and advocacy for reduced state spending and a reduced overall tax burden. MTA is an alliance of Michigan citizens who believe the state government of Michigan is hurting citizens and our economy by taking too much money from citizens and redistributing it through ever-increasing spending.[1]
Projects
Protest at Capitol
Five hundred Michigan taxpayers protests Governor Granholm and state lawmakers about recent tax increases. The MTA organized this event to proclaim "No new taxes, Enough is enough and Cut spending".[2]
Recall
Chair Leon Drolet expects to launch two to five legislative recalls soon, but says it depends where in Michigan people are most willing to gather signatures. It would take thousands of siginatures, a daunting task, but Drolet said the goal is not to take out one bad politician, but instead to show them they're not immune. [3]
