Middlesex County is one of 14 counties in Massachusetts.

The majority of Massachusetts counties, including Middlesex, currently exist as geographic regions and have no county government and no website. County functions were assumed by state agencies and there is no county council or commissioner.[1] Middlesex County was abolished as a political entity on July 11, 1997.[2]
