Montrose Community Schools is located in Genesee County, Michigan. It comprises four total buildings, including one high school. The district serves approximately 1678 students and proclaims itself to be the largest employer in the community. [1]

According to a study of the 22 school district in Genesee County conducted by the Flint Journal, the Montrose Community school district spent $973.00 on travel for school board members and superintendents during the 2 1/2 years beginning July 1, 2006. This was the least spent of any of the districts surveyed.

The survey was performed using spending records received via the Michigan Freedom of Information Act. [2]
