This practice is controversial because public funds are spent to lobby for an agenda not subject to direct approval by voters, and outcomes may be contrary taxpayers benefit.
Several government entities have registered lobbyists in the state. The Attorney General's Office and the Ohio Auditor of State each have three registered lobbyists for 2010 for in-state lobbying. [1]
