The countywide sales tax is 1.0%.[17]

The county's base real estate tax rate is $1.204 per $100 in assessed value, with an additional levy of $.0025 to fight gypsy moths and a $.0741 fire and rescue levy that is countywide except for the town of Quantico.[6]

Prince William's general tax on personal property (vehicles, etc.) is $3.70 per $100 in assessed value.[6]
