[edit] Public Service Announcements via the Internet
The Internet provides government the opportunity to invest a minimal amount of resources into the education process with a maximum potential return on number of viewers of said information.
Each agency has a variety of issues they have opportunity to address in an unbiased, direct-connect manner. These PSA dispalys can help reduce phone calls and emails into an agency as well as help citizens sort through various multi-jurisdictional issues such as identity theft, phishing and other consumer fraud issues.
Frequently, agencies will design small, rectangle panels displaying an issue and/or program name (i.e. "Amber Alerts" or "Identity Theft") and when a user clicks on the panel, they will be taken to the page displaying such information. These panels can be found across multiple jurisdictions (i.e. a State of Illinois PSA panel on a local municipality website) and can be displayed as a sidebar menu.
