[edit] Records office uses inquiry as example office

"Because of an inquiry from Franklin Park, the state's new Office of Open Records has posted a ruling that tape recordings of public meetings must be made available to the public under the state's updated Right-To-Know Law.

Last month, Franklin Park solicitor Max Junker asked the state office for its opinion about whether the borough secretary's notes and audio recordings, solely meant to help in the preparation of official minutes, are public records.

In his request, Mr. Junker stated the borough previously had denied requests for meeting tapes and secretary's notes based on the former law."
