Rockford School District 205 is a school district in Illinois covering about 170 sq. miles of east-central Illinois including the city of Rockford. It contains 48 school buildings, including 5 high schools and 6 alternative schools. Student enrollment is approximately 27,000.[1]

  • The Rockford Public School District received $3.3 million on July 28, 2011 for wireless internet access in every classroom, 600 smart boards, projectors, and speakers, 800 corresponding wireless slates, 2500 desktop computers and 170 visual presenters. These grants funded by Title I, IIA, IID, and IDEA.[15]
  • On July 29, 2011, President of the School Board writes an editorial publicizing the improvements Rockford School District has made in the last three months.[16]
