Santa Cruz County School Boards Association
From Sunshine Review
The Santa Cruz County School Boards Association is a taxpayer-funded lobbying association[1] in California.
Santa Cruz County has 30,000 students.
All of the county's 10 districts must agree with the rules of the group before the group fine-tunes the bylaws and begins meeting once every other month. Each district and the county Office of Education will have one trustee on the board.[2] As of September, only 5 districts have joined (see Members below). [3]
The group is modeled after the Santa Clara County School Boards Association. [2]

Charter schools are not allowed in the association, as the board is only for elected officials. [2] [4] This has become the cause of much debate. [3]
