The South Lyon Community Schools are located in Oakland County, Michigan. According to a report from the Michigan Dept. of Education, they served 7,005 students for the 2006-07 school year and were the 43rd largest public school district in Michigan.[1]
Transparency Resources
Just prior to the 2008-09 school year, the Mackinac Center for Public Policy's "Show Michigan the Money" transparency project sent a request to the South Lyon Community Schools, asking the district to regularly place their check register online for public inspection. To date, the district has not replied.[2]
