Stan Jordan is a member of the Duval County Public School Board, representing District 1. He is serving in his first term, which expires in 2012.

Jordan was born in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and Jacksonville University.
Jordan was a pilot in the U.S. Army, starting as a private and rising to the rank of full Colonel. Jordan later returned to the Duval County Public School system as a classroom teacher, principal and district-wide administrator. He is certified by the Florida Department of Education in Administration, K-12.
Jordan moved into the business world, winning several awards. During this time he was elected as a school board member. He has served on the board for 16 years, as Chairman four times. He has also been Chairman of the state-wide Governor’s Task Force on Education.
In 2000, Jordan began his representation the people of District 17 in the Florida House of Representatives, serving in this position for eight years.
His wife, Shirley, and he are members of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. They have two daughters and four grandchildren, all of whom have been through or are currently in public school.[1]
