Sunshine On Schools is a website designed to track school spending in every school district in the state of North Dakota.

There are four searchable areas on the website

  • Single District Reports
  • District Comparison Reports
  • Tax Levy Reports
  • State Ranking Reports

There is also a section for viewer comments to help gauge the helpfulness of the website.

Transparency

Sunshine on Schools was created by North Dakota based think tank North Dakota Policy Center in order to provide citizens of North Dakota with an easy to use resource for finding information on school spending, and to promote government transparency.

The North Dakota State Superintendent of Public Instruction, the state’s highest education official admits to using the Sunshine on Schools website to look up information that could be easily provided by the government instead of think tanks.[1],[2]
