Goal: To create a chart of local elected officials for each county, city and school district in the United States along with complete profiles.

[edit] Current To Do List

1. Create horizontal navigational template for each state's school districts.

a. These will have links to the County Commissioners, City Councils, School Board Members, Mayors, Sheriffs and other local positions in the state.
b. Each of these articles will have an article describing the role of the government entity.

2. Add a chart of the current local elected official to each locational page.

a. For example a chart of school board members will be listed on their school district page.

3. Add links to newly created pages in any old related pages.

4. Create profiles of the local government officials
5. Add content exclusive to Sunshine Review to articles.

[edit] Style notes

  • The template name should be at "Template:STATE local elected official".
  • Local elected officials can include: County commissioners, City council, School Board members and so on.
  • In the articles, unless you're talking about a specific person (e.g. County Executive Joe the Plumber), the title of the office should be lowercase (e.g. school board member)
  • Make sure to add {{TOCnestright}} at the top of the article.

  • For each page make sure you add the state project template to the discussion page. This will be the state abbreviation like {{al}} It will look something like this:

Our main sources of information for these positions will be the official websites of the officials and possibly from taxpayer-funded lobbying associations. Place [[double brackets]] about any official who has enough information online to warrant a profile.
