Although there are a few good things about Arcohe Union Elementary school, there overall motto that says Exceeding Expectations fails to deliver. This school does not grow and improve each year. A great deal parents are not happy with out dated curriculum nor staff unprofessionalisim. Parents have taken complaints to superintendent and board numerous times regarding unprofessional behavior of teachers and management and of school policies but still there is no improvements. The teachers do not fear reprimands and are given free rain to run their classrooms any way they see fit. There is no uniform expectations on discipline, parent teacher communication, attitude and demeanor toward students and parents or much else through out the school. Many teachers are in the habit of yelling at and belittling students and are often disrespectful to parents. Parent teacher communication is lacking. There are hardly ever new programs implemented and made mandatory for all classes to participate in as a standard uniform curriculum and school policy. Arcohe could learn a great deal on how a school should be run from the Elk Grove school district, whom isn't perfect, but by far has a better, healthier program and atmosphere for students and their families to thrive. It has been my observation that management at Arcohe school likes the way things are and are not open for drastic changes that need to happen. What a shame for the children who attend there. They deserve better.
