Talk:Naming Conventions
From Sunshine Review
Is there a naming convention yet for school districts? I'm wondering specifically if the name of the state the district is in should be included. For example, Beaufort County School District vs. Beaufort County School District, South Carolina. Also, would school district be in caps or not? Maverick 21:15, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Another question: it looks like there are two different types of school district pages emerging. Website/transparency review pages like this: Gilford School District, New Hampshire and more general pages like this: Dallas Independent School District. Should there be a separate naming scheme for each? For example, Gilford School District, New Hampshire Transparency Review vs. Gilford School District. Maverick 21:21, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- Good questions. It seems to me that the Dallas Independent School District article should be moved/re-named as Dallas Independent School District, Texas and that there should then be a Dallas Independent School District transparency review. I'd rather not capitalize "Transparency Review". My two cents.Leslie Graves 22:03, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'm definitely for using the location adjacent with the title of the school district because a lot of them seem to repeat names (there seems to be a city called "Brighton" in every state.) I'm also for capitalizing "School District."--Kristinpedia 15:51, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
