The Texas Conference of Urban Counties is a taxpayer-funded lobbying association in Texas. It is a non-profit organization that provides advocacy and training for municipal county leaders. It was established in order to lobby for the most populous urban counties in the state. These counties, which have large cities in them like Dallas, felt like the state-wide county association did not adequetely represent their urban issues.
