Voluntown is a town in Connecticut. In October 2008, the town announced that rather than comply with a new requirement of the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act to post minutes on Town websites within seven days of a town meeting, it would pull down its website.[1],[2] Visitors to the website will now find two red circles with slashes across them - the universal sign for “No”, and the statement ”The town has no IT department, and complying with the bill will put a burden on each board in town”.
