Elected officials

The current mayor is James R. Fouts. He was first elected mayor in 2007. In the 2011 election, in which councilwoman Kathy Vogt is challenging Fouts for mayor, questions of whether Fouts has lied about his age bring a challenge to his eligibility to run.[11]
City council members are elected for four-year terms,[12] as is the city clerk.[13] The city treasurer is also an elected position.[14]
