Wayne Alexander is the former Superintendent of the Hernando County School Board.

[edit] Dissolution of contract

On August 27, 2009, the Hernando County School Board voted to end Superintendent Alexander's three-year contract nine months early. He has been recently accused of nepotism, secretive efforts to find a new job, irresponsible budget recommendations and failing to oversee district staff.

Alexander's last day was September 11, 2009 and he will be paid an additional 30 days' worth of salary and benefits on that date.
"I will hold back my tears because what I really want to say is thank you to the four of you," Alexander said to the four board members in the room. "This has been a tremendous experience and I will miss all four of you."[1]
The Hernando County School's website added a survey to help in the search for a new superintendent of schools.
