Despite annual audits of the city's finances, $500,000 was embezzled from city funds between 2000 and 2005/06. The firm that had been receiving about $25,000 each year for it's accounting services, Pauly Rogers and Co., reached an agreement with West Linn where the firm will pay $385,000 back to the city. The agreement "specifically den[ies] any liability" to the city for failing to note the missing funds. ^[1]
