The American Legislative Exchange Council (or ALEC) is the nation's largest nonpartisan, individual membership association of state legislators. The organization is devoted to advancing free market and limited government principles in state and federal legislatures. Their website has eight main sections each with many subsections. These Sections are:

  • About ALEC
  • Members
  • Events & Meetings
  • Model Legislation
  • Task Forces
  • ALEC Initiatives
  • Publications
  • News

[edit] Transparency

The ALEC is committed to government transparency. Recently, along with the Evergreen Freedom Foundation the ALEC supported a measure that would open government labor negotiations up to taxpayers.[1]
