Louisiana House Bill 1100 was a piece of Legislation that was under consideration in the state of Louisiana, in May 2008. The bill was sponsored by state Rep. Wayne Waddell, R-Shreveport. The bill would have dramatically increased the number of governor’s office records available for public scrutiny. The bill passed in the state house but failed in a committee of the state senate.
[edit] Transparency
While the entire bill was about increasing transparency in government, supporters in LA felt it was of particular importance because it would have allowed the public to see government plans for hurricane relief. After Katrina many citizens of LA are very concerned about what will be done if there is another disaster.
