Mike Van Winkle

Mike Van Winkle previously served as vice-president of the Sam Adams Alliance. He oversaw new media projects for the Sam Adams Alliance, including Blogivists, Ballotpedia and Judgepedia. He was also the executive editor of the Sunshine Review.
Van Winkle was a policy analyst for the Illinois Policy Institute and then a media and legislation specialist with the Heartland Institute. He has written regularly on politics and public affairs and has been published in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, American Spectator Online, and TCSDaily. He describes himself as "an unabashed libertarian".
Mike has an M.A. in social sciences from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in political science from the University of Illinois-Chicago, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002. He is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
