Plum, Pennsylvania
From Sunshine Review
Plum is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
Public records
Plum government is working toward becoming paperless. In February of 2009, Borough Council voted to spend $150,000 to hire a company to scan all archived documents so that they can be accessed online. The goal is to place a computer in the lobby of the government building and equip computers at the borough library and senior center with the software containing all the public records.
Manager Michael Thomas is pushing to get the paperless program in place as soon as possible so that borough staff will be freed from fulfilling requests for public documents. "Every minute the staff is pulling documents, they're not getting something else done," Thomas said. [1]
